My wife wanted a Browning 1911-22 compact to get use to shooting an auto plus just for plinking. She(we) like the gun but HATE the sights. Called Browning and asked if they had anything else for the compact. His only word was(no). Not, we're working on it ,or let me see if there is anything in the pipe. Just NO! So I asked if he knew any after market like Meprolight or Trijicon. He said to call Meprolight and I said, but they're in Israel, and his witty response was," SO!" What an A..! Anyway, I 'm back to square one. Would anyone know of a gunsmith that could fit the Browning 1911-22 compact with new sights? Thank You. Fredfishdog

I'd like something like meprolight or trijicon for quick sight picture. I have meprolight on my Kimber ultra carry II and really love it. Our eyes are getting a little long in the tooth so this would be of help. This Browning 1911-22 compact has a dove tail rear sight and a straight rail front sight.

Quick search doesn't turn up anything, apparently the sights are scaled down as the gun is, so standard 1911 sights will not work. Seems like right now the best route may be trying to paint the front sight with some good sight paint (or nail polish if you wanna save some money).
