Howdy folks I'm Noel. I found a link to BS on a survivalist site I was cruising the other day. I've been randomly collecting firearms for several years. I currently own a Mossberg 12ga, an AR-15 I built, Yugo SKS, Ruger 77/17, Springfield XD compact 9mm, Ruger P90, and an H&K USP .45. I've been just buying what I wanted at the time with no real direction, but I've decided lately that I need to consolidate into some standard. I'm thinking of pairing all that down to an AR or two and parts, the Mossberg (cause everyone needs a room broom) and swapping out all the handguns for a couple of Beretta 92s.

Really liking the forums so far. Lots of good info here. Looking forward to finding some place here in Lafayette to heat up some barrels.

welcome aboard from another lafayette resident. why consoidate? more is fun! get a core set of guns and have some toys.

and if you have not tried CZ 75s, try them a bit before going for some 92s.

Thanks guys! There are two reasons for consolidation. Please feel free to punch holes it my reasoning because I like having several different guns. I've recently quit my job to go back to school (I created a job, that puts me +1 over the gov. :D ). So, my funds right now are limited otherwise I'd just keep everything I have and add to the pile. The reason for wanting to pair it down is a desire for consistency in my collection for that SHTF scenario. Just until I'm done with school and nail down a great paying job, assuming nothing happens between now and then.

if you want to get rid of your usp let me know....ive got the itch for another one. and i guess it would be better to consolidate into different guns of the same caliber or atleast limit it to 2 or 3 calibers? i dunno. not much into the survivalist prepping scenarios but when someone brought that up one time it seemed to make sense to me....

welcome to the forums btw! haha

As much as I love my M9's I wouldn't part with the USP...That would be like trying to take my FAL away from me. I'm better with AR and in SHTF I'd carry AR but you gotta keep something worth defending! Welcome aboard!

Personally, if I were "consolidating" I would sell them all except the AR and buy a glock, and a different upper. If you want firepower, get the G20 (my current primary), if you want SHTF ammo availability type, get a G21 or G17. The secondary upper would be the opposite of what you're running now (if you have a rifle length, get a 1-9 14.5" for cqc stuff and run regular ammo. If you have a short or middy, then build a 20" with 1-7 so you can stabilize heavy bullets and run your AR out to 450+.) just my 2 cents, but I think you can get the most "value" that way.

(if you dont really need the cash though, just keep them all! You'll be much happier)

And it appears no matter what the OP is, the good ole glock-gaydar goes off and alerts them of any post that doesn't agree with their opinion on the quality of a firearm.
