"So, today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:

An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.

Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.

In addition to buying a disc from a retailer, you can also download games from Xbox Live on day of release. If you choose to download your games, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today. Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console -- there will be no regional restrictions.

These changes will impact some of the scenarios we previously announced for Xbox One. The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray. "

Yup....the kinect is still a deal breaker for me.

I'm gonna ride the xb360 to the bitter end....

I'll be deciding on a next gen console when battlefield 4 is released on it. I'm leaning towards ps4, but Xbox live is so much more better than ps. If ps can figure out parties and cross game chat, I'll switch brands without a second thought.

I can't get over the PS controller. I hated it ever since PS2. If I don't get a new xbox i'll just go all PC. Or actually go outside and try to get better at golf.

Glad they backed off on that but the Kinect is still something I am not too fond of. I am still not sure what route I will go with the next gen systems. I hardly even play video games anymore.

F them. I am a man of my word. They are changing their minds simply so they don't take the $$$$ hit, not because they think it is the right thing to do. If they did, they would have done it from the get go. M$, my sweaty taint awaits your tongue, I would not buy a Xbox Shun even if they stuffed the disc tray with Benjamin's!

I understand about the connect issue sort of but they said you'd be able to turn it off. If you were still concerned, couldn't you just put a game case in front of it? Like the hippies used to cover their TV's?

We have had several Xboxes. I have trouble with all of them.
I think we are gonna switch to the Sony platform soon.

Supposedly ps4 live is going to be a huge improvement over their past online play. But time will tell. They've spent allot of money on it.

The ps4 controller has been redesigned. Supposedly a little beefier and more comfortable. Supposed to fit adult hands and not just little kid hands.

I always feel bad for you guys. I got an XBOX, then an XBOX 360, then an XBOX Elite.

They performed as advertised. Never any problem.

HOWEVER, starting with the 360. I never laid it on a flat surface or carpet like I've seen most folks do.
I used a little Mainstay Wire Stacking Shelf.

They make all sizes. I just sorted through them at Walmart until I found one smaller than the XBOX but big enough to hold it easily. It kept the Box a couple inches off the shelf it was sitting on.

I also kept one of these in the back of it blowing into the suction side of the fan that cooled the XBOX. When I turned the XBOX on, I always turned this little fan on too.

I did all that as a preventative (Just in case). I know plenty of guys who never did any of that and never had a problem with theirs.

I guess I thought that was a small consultation in preventive care. Didn't cost hardly anything and it ran cool even after 6 hours of use.

I know plenty of guys who did the same to their PS3's with little trays and fans just to keep their systems cool.

Myth busted! I have a ps3. I also have a controller for it that is an exact clone of the xbox360 controller.

    You're gonna need a new excuse. :p
