I'm new to this forum. Fairly new to Baton Rouge area. Married w three kids. Looking for info on places to hunt public/ private. Took my son to tunica hills wma yesterday bowhunting. Any info would be appreciated.

There are many good places to hunt near you; but even if you have to travel a bit there are many options. if you want to hunt deer on public lands you must put some time in scouting the area. Squirrel hunting is an exceptional way to do this while still enjoying a hunt with the kids.

For private land / leases, check the local papers classifieds. Also, if you are the truly adventurous type, find landowners in areas you would like to hunt and ask them if you could pay them directly tohunt their land.
