I'm looking for another 686, non-MIM, Pre-lock, NON-floating hand in like condition. Here's the important part: will consider 3 through 5 inch barrels ONLY.

did the 686-3 fall under the same recall as some of the other early 686's?

As far I can find S&W had their s*%t together by the -3. I'm pretty sure that only the -2 and early versions had to go back in and get Modified (and stamped with the "M"). I'm just getting into these and am by no means an expert. Any knowledgeable members care to chime in?

The no dash and -1's were subject to recall, which may, or may not be required on every "no" or "1" dash gun. Some owners had it done others didn't.

Thankya! I'm taking it to the range tomorrow to try and remind myself just how much I want to trade it...lol. I've got a 66-1 in 4" and just like the balance better than a 6".
