"Have you heard of the “Great Outdoors Initiative”? Chances are, you haven’t. But across the country, White House officials have been meeting quietly with environmental groups to map out government plans for acquiring untold millions of acres of both public and private land. It’s another stealthy power grab through executive order that promises to radically transform the American way of life."

Sounds like another mechanism by which to stop oil and gas production.

Sure, the permitting process has managed to stop a lot of companies from getting on-shore oil... but turning every square foot of forest into a "wildlife reserve" further tightens the feds grip on oil companies' neck.

this is the very thing that has our cash flow stifled at the moment. one job we are working is on federal land in Wyoming and we have to stop for weeks at a time to establish protocol for hyper-sensitive issues such as finding an arrowhead while walking in the woods. we sit costing my customer and their client hundreds of thousands of dollars while geologists and archeologists take a stab at becoming politicians. THAT is the kind of crap that is sending those types of clients abroad with their checkbooks...

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

Let's all watch as we give away the kingdom for a handful of nails.

I was reading a story where the conservation groups have been releasing animals such as arctic timber wolves and cougars on federally owned lands in order to re-establish their existence. Problem is, the lands have never had these species on them and now cattle, lamb and other livestock are being killed and the private land owners cannot kill the predators since they are protected. One land owner claims to have lost 50% of his flock last year due to the protected predators. Now he faces losing his land and his livelihood since he cannot continue to operate under current conditions. Just another property that will be available for the Federal Land Grab.

9,000,000 Acres in Utah at risk - As an ATV enthusiast, this story below makes me sick.
