o u got me brah. go turn back on walton & johnson before your brain explodes due to all of the knowledge in this thread.

Your knowledge is nothing but the ******** that's been fed to you since you were born, probably by your parents and definately by the "education system".

I work as a hiring manager for an Inland Tug Boat Company. I hire deckhands all the time. The job is physically taxing, hard, and dangerous. Off the street with no experience of any kind, the job pays $35,000/yr and offers full health benefits after 90 days. There are raises at 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. If the employee performs well enough and makes it a year, their salary at that point is $46,000. Every year our company puts at least 2 deckhands into an apprentice program to get their Captain's license. A deckhand has to have minimum of 2 years on deck to qualify for an apprentice license. As Apprentice Mates, they now make $58,000 a year. After 18 months of training, if they successfully train and meet the requirements, they receive their Mate Pilot license. A Mate Pilot makes $111,000/yr or more depending on the Horsepower of the boat they run. Nothing is given to any of these people. They earn every dollar and promotion they get.

The Moral of all this is there are jobs with great opportunity for immediate and long term success. People just have to be able to put forth the effort to get and keep them. In approximately 5 years, you can go from not knowing **** to a 6 figure a year job in my industry. All you have to do is show up everyday, do your job to the best of your ability, and learn from those around you. It's not rocket science.

Whoa hey, thread hijack, does your company offer summer jobs to college kids (over 21)? I've got 12k,000nm (offshore) logged as crew including an Atlantic crossing.
Can you PM me the name of your company (not looking for handout, just a way to apply)

Sounds good to me, dfsutton. If I were younger, I'd much prefer working on a tugboat than camping out on Wall Street.

I love it so much when someone's spews knowledge and expects everyone on the board to listen so intently to their thoughts about how everyone else is wrong, but when someone offers a challenging reply they just say some ******** and try to make a joke. Answer the people's questions if you want to convert people over to your socialist bs.

It's the same in every thread. It's how they work. It's never going to change. :dunno:

These people are called TROLLS. Please do not feed them. Having different opinions/ideas is ok. Backing them up with reason/facts is the way to win a discussion. Throwing out insults and unsubstantiated claims benefits no one.

Have to interject here, bro. I'm a troll. An epic troll, actually. I'd troll your mom.
I troll for fun and infamy over Battle.net and XBL. I troll my teachers and Ron Paul People. I'll even troll other trolls.

This nubcake is no troll. He doesn't **** you off cause it's hilarious like trolls do, he spews socialist propaganda all over the board because he wants a Free Lunch. I refuse to be grouped in with the south end of a northbound horse.

One who purposely and deliberately (that purpose usually being self-amusement) starts an argument in a manner which attacks others on a forum without in any way listening to the arguments proposed by his or her peers. He will spark of such an argument via the use of ad hominem attacks (i.e. 'you're nothing but a fanboy' is a popular phrase) with no substance or relevence to back them up as well as straw man arguments, which he uses to simply avoid addressing the essence of the issue.

First, I'm not your or anyone's "bro". If you are a troll and I offended you remember Karma's a bitch. He is a troll. By definition an "inflammatory" remark qualifies as trolling. But what ever. I will be closing soon and drinking Jim Beam Black Label and Coke .

12,000 hippies show up at Wall Street and it is a "nationwide movement."

It has been said but going to college does not guarantee you a job when you graduate. And having the best (most expensive) education makes no difference. It falls on the student to learn and apply himself. Where you went to school only gets you to the next step, high school to college, college to first job. In my interview and job experience it depends more on what you know and the kind of person you are.

One problem I see with my generation is that they just do not understand what it takes. My parents made it look easy, I admit. But they also made sure that I knew it just looked easy. I was taught budgeting from a young age and the actual value and cost of a dollar. They gave me opportunities that I could probably not have had otherwise (letting me choose Brother Martin, helping with some college loans, providing my first vehicle s10), but I also worked towards the end of high school, and all during college. I took out student loans also, and I was able to receive scholarships for over half my tuition. I also commuted to Loyola from Destrehan daily. I took advantage of the opportunity they had provided for me, In the best way I could. I had some trouble finding a job when I first graduated, and I would attribute it more to companies wanting people with experience, but are not willing to give it. After a few months I had two at the same time, of course... I have been employed for 3 years now, and bought a double, doing most of the work myself with the help of my family. I live in one side and rent the other. I have paid off my credit card balance at the end of every month, and have never once had to pay interest.

I know I am just one example, but it can be done. No one ever said it would be easy, but you (AND ONLY YOU) have control over your own life. If you are not happy with it then you need to change it. Blaming your situation on someone else helps no one.

I wasn't feeding any trolls, and I am well aware of what a troll is. If I was "feeding" them, then I would have put up a debate. He isn't trolling, there is no humor in it, he is just being a dumbass. I mainly typed that so the people trying to convince him otherwise would quit wasting their time. Thanks for the tip though

In a society that has been brow beaten by do-gooders into promoting equality of outcome versus equality of opportunity for the last 3 decades, the Occupy Wall Street Protests were an inevitability. From birth, my generation has been taught that everyone is equal in all ways. Everyone gets a turn at T-ball, anyone who tries out for the football team makes it, and at the cutting edge of social equality, gender specific pronouns are dropped and white paper is replaced with a more racially diverse selection. In their zeal to ensure the happiness of all children, something I acknowledge as a worthy endeavor, the social crusaders in this country forgot that in the real world, we aren't all of equal capability, and the net result of this over-correction is that there is an entire generation of people in this country who are maladjusted to life after high school. When a 99%er, a person who has been taught their entire life that they are equal to everyone, gazes upon the disparity in wealth between them and a 1%er, the only logical conclusion that person can reach is that the wealthy individual cheated, or came by their fortune through luck. In either case, my generation feels entitled to a piece of the pie and there aren't many bakers among us. We would all be better served if the Cult of Entitlement stopped pretending that Darwinism didn't apply to humans as well.

I pulled this from the forum page of occupywallst.org This is indicative of the moronic mindset behind this idiocy.

Proposed List Of Demands For Occupy Wall St Movement!
Posted 7 days ago by LloydJHart (Vineyard Haven, MA)

Demand one: Restoration of the living wage. This demand can only be met by ending "Freetrade" by re-imposing trade tariffs on all imported goods entering the American market to level the playing field for domestic family farming and domestic manufacturing as most nations that are dumping cheap products onto the American market have radical wage and environmental regulation advantages. Another policy that must be instituted is raise the minimum wage to twenty dollars an hr.

Demand two: Institute a universal single payer healthcare system. To do this all private insurers must be banned from the healthcare market as their only effect on the health of patients is to take money away from doctors, nurses and hospitals preventing them from doing their jobs and hand that money to wall st. investors.

Demand three: Guaranteed living wage income regardless of employment.

    Demand four: Free college education.

Demand five: Begin a fast track process to bring the fossil fuel economy to an end while at the same bringing the alternative energy economy up to energy demand.

Demand six: One trillion dollars in infrastructure (Water, Sewer, Rail, Roads and Bridges and Electrical Grid) spending now.

Demand seven: One trillion dollars in ecological restoration planting forests, reestablishing wetlands and the natural flow of river systems and decommissioning of all of America's nuclear power plants.

Demand eight: Racial and gender equal rights amendment.

Demand nine: Open borders migration. anyone can travel anywhere to work and live.

Demand ten: Bring American elections up to international standards of a paper ballot precinct counted and recounted in front of an independent and party observers system.

Demand eleven: Immediate across the board debt forgiveness for all. Debt forgiveness of sovereign debt, commercial loans, home mortgages, home equity loans, credit card debt, student loans and personal loans now! All debt must be stricken from the "Books." World Bank Loans to all Nations, Bank to Bank Debt and all Bonds and Margin Call Debt in the stock market including all Derivatives or Credit Default Swaps, all 65 trillion dollars of them must also be stricken from the "Books." And I don't mean debt that is in default, I mean all debt on the entire planet period.

Demand twelve: Outlaw all credit reporting agencies.

Demand thirteen: Allow all workers to sign a ballot at any time during a union organizing campaign or at any time that represents their yeah or nay to having a union represent them in collective bargaining or to form a union.

These demands will create so many jobs it will be completely impossible to fill them without an open borders policy.

    Lloyd J Hart 508-687-9153

So everything that we go to work and work hard for they want for free! F**k 'em. I have had a job everyday since I was 14. I see no problem with helping someone who was laid off by no fault of thier own. However I do not want to pay a single penny to nutjob that wants and wants and wants instead of busting his ass and earning it. I wouldn't **** on them if they were on fire!

You should look at some polls to see how far this once called Great Land has fallen. You would probably die fighting change even if it would change things for the better.

Ummm, many wouldn't. They have bought into the "support the globalist elite and damn the rest"; yet they still call themselves "American".

The very best slaves are the slaves who believe themselves to be free.

A wise man would consider this: One Million converge on D.C. and the media claims a couple of hundred thousand (a ala "Million Man March" and the Tea Party members) and they slant the coverage TO MAINTAIN THE STATUS QUO. Same with the G-7 Protests. Find the anarchists (who are always financed by those who benefit from their violent anarchist bullsh1t) and smear the entirety of the gatherers who are fighting for the rights guaranteed in our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

This is EXACTLY how Germany fell to the Nazis. People have already fallen into class warfare and don't realize it. There is only one thing, nay, two that matter to me: The Constitution and Bill of Rights. The Federal Reserve is unconstitutional. Period. Only Congress has the power to coin money and determine the value thereof. What part of the sentence can't we decipher? We've got to be the absolute dumbest damned people to have ever walked the planet...
