Ok guys, i'm getting a p229 on trade in 40S&W. Do they make a coversion kit to switch to 9mm? If so can you use the 40S&W mags or do i need 9mm?

    Thanks in advance

I'm not sure if Sig makes a conversion for it but I do know that Barsto does. I had a P229 and a Barsto barrel for it, they're about $200 last I saw.

Yes. The Caliber Exchange Kit is available in .22, 9, 40, & 357SIG.

    It's about $300 for a new slide, barrel & 1 magazine.

Or BarSto still makes their conversion barrels which are about $200 but take 10-12 weeks to get.

I would recommend getting at least 1 9mm magazine if you decide to go with just the barrel route. The 40 mag MAY feed but a 9 mag is not that expensive.

Thanks guys. BarSto calls it a "semi" drop in. Do you need a smith to true it up?

Possibly. It may need some minor fitting in the hood and locking block areas. Generally, they do drop in without any modification, but they always say "semi" just in case it doesn't fit your pistol exactly.
