Painting a rifle

I'm interested in camoing a rifle I have,, it's a Remington 700 with a Nikon scope, I'm interested in painting the gun and scope, wondering if there is a quality spray on paint job before I take it to the smith for a custom job,, iwhat would be the best paint to use.
