The 1:7 twist rate is surprising to see. How many places did they put their logo? JSE usually has some nice uppers sans the car dealer labeling.

I counted one logo on the receiver and one on the bolt carrier.

None of my AR's, past or present, have a logo on the upper or bolt carrier. I've seen them, but usually it's high end stuff like Daniel Defense. It reminds me of a car I saw in Donaldsonville that had a huge "KIA" on the entire side.

Got a cabelas flyer in the mail the other day, S&W .223 sport AR15 for $599. Also, there are coupons for cabelas club members, spend $500+ and get $100 off, so thats $499+tax for a S&W factory AR. I don't know anything about the ".223 sport" model, but it says 1-8 twist w/ 5R rifling, and its a flattop with BUIS and comes with Pmags.

Good catch. I missed that one when I was skimming through the flyer. It's good 4/14-4/23. I haven't found the product online but it looks nice in the flyer, page 14, top right. Any links or info on those coupons?

No, sure don't. I know that I regularly stuff in the mail from them for $$ off of a purhase of $$$ or more, but I have had one of their credit cards for many years.

Me too. The extra $100 off coupon I have makes it even more enticing. Might have to go check one out in person one of these days.

I checked that rifle out the other day it has a polymer lower, no dust cover just a very plain gun. That's not to say it isn't a good deal

That would explain the trigger guard. The S&W product page lists the receiver material as "7075 T6 Aluminum". Maybe that's the upper receiver.

The upper and the parts kit would be worth it if you have a coupon. you lucky dogs...
