I'm looking for a reputable gunsmith somewhere in the Hammond to Baton Rouge area, who's experienced in working on old Parker shotguns. I have a problem with the double barrel having a spring resistance while being cocked open. It doesn't cock and set the triggers. When the safety is flipped off, the triggers immediately fall into their fired position. Whatever is wrong causes back-tension against the barrels and they won't slip of the receiver as they should during breakdown.

If it's something simple I can fix on my own, please tell me.

    Thanks,
    Shane

I've decided to just consider the 12 gauge a wallhanger or parts gun, but I need someone to evaluate a dbl barrel 16 gauge for me. Any gunsmiths in Baton Rouge or the surrounding area qualified to do this for an old Parker gun?

I know a great deal of information on Parkers, LC Smiths, and older SXS shotguns. Being I have a bunch and service and restore some. If you would like me to look at it let me know.
