your best bet would be to contact Bill.

    here is the e-mail:

I have contacted Paul Gomez and he has agreed to come to Thibodaux for a two day handgun training class. The we have tenetivly chosen the weekend of March 7 &8. The cost will be around $300.
    Following is a course description.

The Robust Pistol Manipulation (RPM) course is a two day block of instruction which focuses on developing consistent, non-diagnostic, combative gunhandling skills. This course is designed to instill robust gunhandling, through the use of kinesthetic cues and physical reference points, to enable the student to efficiently manipulate and utilize the weapon regardless of the environment or the shooter's relationship to it. A heavy emphasis is placed on recognizing and understanding the concepts that drive the combative use of the handgun.
    Topics covered include:
    Diagnostics
    The Combative Drawstroke
    Loading/Unloading/Reloading
    Status Check
    Sighting Concepts
    Triggering Concepts
    Non-diagnostic Stoppage Reductions
Single Hand Drawstroke [right & left]
    Single Hand Reload
    One Hand Slide Manipulation
    One Hand Stoppage Reductions
    Positional Shooting Dynamics
    Equipment Required:
Cover garment, carry gear [belt, holster, mag pouch], eye & ear protection, minimum two pistol
    magazines, minimum 500rds of ammunition

We need a minimum of 10 students and maximum of 16 to make this class happen. We've already got four signed up. Please let me know if you would like to take this important class.

This really makes me thankful for the time we got to spend with Paul out at the buffer zone a few months ago when he agreed to do some training for the BS guys FOR FREE. For those of you who couldn't/didn't make it out there, know that $300 is a drop in the bucket compared to the level of professional training you'll get from a TWO day course. I didn't know who Paul was before I joined BS, but the rest of the email from Bill (I got the same one) starts to cover it. I'll post it up here for the rest of the guys who were in my shoes and really didn't know what this information is worth. If I'm not stuck in the middle of the gulf then I'll definitely be there!

    Who is Pual Gomez?

Pual currently works for Tac Pro Shooting Center, a private sector school
in north Texas owned by a former Brit SBS guy. He has spent 13 years in
the army, between active duty and the national guard. He was a cop at
Southern University in Baton Rouge and has been involved in private
sector training since the mid-90s. Pual teaches, or has taught, for a
number of training organizations to include Andy Stanford's Options
for Personal Security, Tom Given's Rangemaster, and SouthNarc's
ShivWorks, as well as presenting at several training conferences
around the country such as the Polite Society Tactical Conference, the
National Tactical Invitational, the OPS Summits and the '1-inch to 100
yard' Conference. Additionally, Paul has completed more than fifty
private sector training courses over the last decade.

Here are some comments from students and colleagues:

"Paul's knowledge of this system is virtually unlimited, and I learned
a number of things I'm going to steal from him. His handling repertoire is smooth and efficient, and,
like me, he is a staunch advocate of hot ranges. The vaunted Kalashnikov System will be with us
for a long time, and all need to be familiar with it." –John Farnam, Defense Training International

"Paul has forgotten more about the AK than most people ever knew" –
    Gabe Suarez, Suarez International

I have had the privilege of talking with, taking a course from, and
knowing Paul for about 3 years. Paul is one of the few go-to guys that
has an almost encyclopedic level of knowledge and he is not the least
bit unwilling to share with anyone that is interested. - Jim Conway

I have known Paul for a little over 4 yrs now and when Jim says he has
an encyclopedic mind when it comes to guns, training or gnomes he is
understating the fact. Paul is the go-to man for several "Big Name"
trainers who frequently pick his brain for information and ideas. Paul
is a very humble, sincere guy who does not like or feel the need to
pimp himself so I will do it for him! DO NOT miss the opportunity to
train with him. You will be introduced to concepts, principles and
techniques new and old but most assuredly not in the manner you are
accustomed to. - Chris Fry www.MDTStraining.com

Yeah... especially the one about "Non-diagnostic Stoppage Reductions".

What an impressive way to say "Tap, Rack, Ready"...;)

    .

You are obviously over-diagnosing the issue. Exactly the opposite of what this course is meant to do!

LSP972, I take it you are not too impressed.

I was just teasing with my post. Paul shot and had dinner with a group of us from the board one night and I really enjoyed our conversation. He made some solid critiques concerning my shooting technique which I took to heart and have worked to change.

I would certainly sign up for the class.

Very small things like not always shooting two shots on every drill (mix it up, shoot three, shoot one, shoot five). And keeping a solid grip all the way down when holstering. I have a habit of doing a little John Wayne move when putting the gun back in the holster that wouldn't be helpful if I had to suddenly get back into the fight.

    Gomez helped me as well.

I always, from habit, have one eye closed when I acquire a sight picture. Then, just before I press the trigger, I close the other eye.

Paul said I should quit this.

It's gotten to the point where I can't tell if you are serious anymore.
