    any recommendations for payed goose hunt in the lafayette area. looked up "cajun adventures" hunt which sounds alright.

    also, is a 3" chamber 12 ga. good enough? what size shot?

    You might get low flyers and bird landing but most shots were overhead. They are deceiving - seem to be flying slow but they are moving! The fall like a 747! The height of the birds depends on wind weather and shooting by other hunters in the area.

    I highly recommend Hevishot #2-BB it is very expensive but after twenty years of goose hunting I have learned not to skimp on the most important part of it. Hevishot is more dense than lead. Steel shot sucks !!! I have watched many birds sht with steel @ 40 yards either lose a few feathers only or set their wings and glide for a mile or more. But regardless the ammo, the are in range you can see their feet.
