Does anyone know someone in the New Orleans area that can do a professional looking cut out on the foam in my pelican 1700 case. I tried to do it my self and it came out looking like poop. Way to OCD to keep looking at that. It would be a cut out for a tavor with optic and fore grip and 3 additional cut outs for mags.

    Thanks!

Hot wire foam cutting is what you want.

You won't find many folks offering a service like this, unless we have a member here that does it.

They make a lot of different foam, but if you want a real clean look, look into their kaizen foam. It's a lot more dense

The Hot wire looks like its the way to go for sure. I did it with an electric knife and keeping a 90 degree for a clean straight cut was pretty impossible for me to do. I got it to fit snug but its far from pretty lol.

Another option is to use a hair dryer and heat the foam (DON'T OVERHEAT IT!) and depress the weapon into it. Be careful not to melt the foam... it sticks.

Do yourself a favor an go to Pelican's website and buy an extra piece of foam... Just in case!

Thanks guys! I'll look into the pelican option when i get home tonight. Looks like that may work. I'll do some googling into the heat option as well.
