anybody know how long the bckground times are running now? I just mailed off my packet..

Mine took about two months. Sent my application in mid-September, received my CHP mid-November. Possible that it varies depending on your location.

8-10 weeks in average, eventhough some of my students got it in 3 weeks for some strange reasson

Just received mine

I went to Baton Rouge on Friday Nov 4, 2011 to get fingerprinted and turn in my packet. Received my permit in the mail yesterday Dec 3. It was issued on Nov 29th. Door to door exactly 4 weeks. Pretty pleased with that!

My wife and I dropped off our applications on Nov 16. She got her license on Dec 2. I received mine Dec 19.
Go figure!

Received my permit today. LSP said they received the application on November 9th. So just a little over a month, 5 weeks or so.

Went to lsp headquaters on dec 1 turned in all my paperwork and got mine back yesterday "dec17". I couldn't believe it came that quick, I figured the holidays would delay it.

mail off's seem to take a bit longer than going to the Police HQ. Lately I've heard around a month for drop off and two for mail in. I was one of the lucky three weekers. Good luck!

My advice is for everyone to just go to LSP HQ for prints. That is the ONLY way one can know that they are accepted (in time).

I got my permit package back in 4 days saying I needed 2!!! The packet I got during permit class said 1 copy. Someone put up a URL for the packet information and the last line of page 9 says 2. See my post on this very forum. Don't know when this started.
