For those of you out there who do it yourself, any suggestions on the "best" youtube video on how to stipple?? I would love to take the finger grooves off my 19 and do a stipple job, just haven't had the guts to dive in as yet. Before anyone starts, I know you get what you pay for. To me the pistol is a tool, not a show piece. Even so, may nature demands I try to do a good looking job...

I don't know what YouTube videos to watch, but I'm still practicing on cheap AR grips. I use a Dremel to slowly remove most of the finger grove, then I start sanding. I also bought a wood burning tool from a craft store that has different tips. Different plastics melt differently. It also seams like once you sand or dremel, the plastic can melt differently, I guess from the heat created maybe?? I think I'm almost ready to start butchering up one of my Glocks.

I am in the Lafayette area. pm sent

    a couple examples:

both of these glocks has the hump removed without filling the grip with epoxy and such.

These are all my pattern. this pattern can be carried against bare skin and will provide all the grip you would ask for. I can do other patterns as well at request.

contact me for any questions about what can be done. but basically it your gun so it should be the way you want it.

I also have highr res photos

Big Al, you say you removed the rear hump on the Glocks without filling the void behind the magwell. There doesn't seem to be much material there, is the back strap now very thin? Possibly able to break?

Not at all. I do not do anything that would compromise the structural integrity in any of my modifications. I reshape the grip, the process does require a minimum of back strap stippling but i really do prefer to do a full 360 stipple when I remove the hump.

after reading my own post maybe I should clarify. I reshape the grip at the rear where the hump is. depending on the model (gen3 vs Gen4) depend on how much if any material is actually removed. Glock made the gen 4 grips thinner by removing material. They are plenty thick enough though. the G23 above is a Gen3 the other grip was a brand new G41 Gen4. That Gen4 G41 now feels like a G17 or G21 and points like a 1911.
