I paid for one at game stop last night and my wife picked it up at midnight. It is a christmas present for my 12 year old.

I got one picked it up this morning and since it's been slow at the shop been playing cod ghost all morning. I actually have a second one I ordered online that will be here Monday. One for the shop and one for the house unless it really does become the new pmag then my second one is gone to a new home.

My wife is on the amazon list as well waiting for notification for my B-day gift in 2 weeks, we'll see if it makes it. I switched to Xbox after PS2 but going back to Sony for this generation.

I have plans eventually, but not for at least a year.

Aside from the retail nonsense people have mentioned, this is the best time for PS3 titles and the worst time for the PS4 console. Grand Theft Auto 5 and Rocksmith 2014 just released on PS3, and Gran Turismo 6 and Bandfuse are due momentarily. The first consoles always come out in the clunkiest housing, have the least available memory of the run, are most prone to hardware/firmware issues, and being untested have the highest likelihood of game engine instability.

My guess is the next Elder Scrolls/Skyrim game will force my hand, so I hope they take at least a year or so to develop a consistent engine for this new platform.

they also have the best potential for being jailbroken and/or rooted... hacked, and made to run other good stuff

Looks like the PS4 may have some serious issues. I'm gonna be waiting this out for a while I think.
