Just got back one of two registration forms that were sent off in the same envelope on Nov. 2, 2012.

It has 2 different date stamps on it!

    Nov. 8, 2012, and Jan. 25, 2013.

My guess is, it was one of the "lost" forms.

    Received - LSP 11-8-12
    Received - me 04-12-13

5 months for state! Now another 6 months for feds.

I actually paid for this in May, 2012, got to my dealer in Oct 2012! Over a year will have passed before I can take it home.

I mailed off my state paperwork for an sbr last week. My question is when i am approved for my ATF tax stamp do i have to have it sent to an FFL or can i have to mailed to my home address? Wow 5 months for state approval is very discouraging.

I feel your pain. I'm still waiting for something purchased in June of 12.

If by "it" you mean your SBR (I'm assuming you purchased a rifle and are not doing a Form 1) then your dealer will have it for you when the stamp arrives to him.

No i am putting together a rifle myself and "it" refers to the ATF tax stamp. I was wanting to know if i send the paperwork in myself if the tax stamp can come directly to me or does it have to go to an FFL.

If you submitted a Form 1 for a rifle you will be making/assembling, the stamp will come directly to you.

Just got my state paperwork back from Wyndie. Mailed on April 8th just got it back in the mail April 29th. She approved it April 18th. That was damn quick. Thank you Wyndie you are an angel! Just saw where she stamped it that it was received on the 13th.

I guess I need to call the state it had been two months and half months for my suppressor. To make sure they got it.

I copyed this everone in Louisiana needs to help with this.

Everyone needs to start supporting House Bill 277 to repeal the state paperwork requirement. If you really want to see this go away I would start contacting your legislators.

House Bill 277, introduced by state Representative Eddie Lambert (R-59), was temporarily postponed for additional amendments. This bill would repeal the current duplicative state-level NFA weapon and suppressor registration. Louisiana is the only state that has this burdensome registration scheme that adversely impacts law-abiding Louisianans and their businesses. NFA weapons and suppressors are already heavily regulated by the federal government.
