What do you expect from a grown man that rides a bicycle in the middle of traffic? I say with all these cars we got that bicycles are antiquated and useless...

Really? I ride bicycles in the middle of traffic. Perhaps you should be a little bit more open minded in regards to other people's hobbies much like the person who posted that thread over at RBR.

You don't need to insult an entire group of hobbyists because you disagree with the view's of one of them.

No insult intended...my momma told me not to ride in the street. I do get a bit of a kick out of the bewilderment displayed of how it could of happened when a clutch of em get mowed down on River Road every few years tho. I had one pull flat out in front of me in front of Pennington on Perkins a few years ago, and it's a testament to my driving ability that he's not wearing a plumbing truck for an ass today...

I appreciate that you didn't mean that as an insult. I don't disagree that some cyclists could use a lesson in how to ride, but you do realize that there are laws that disallow us to ride a bike on the sidewalk much like you cannot drive your car on the sidewalk. Bikes are allowed to ride on the street so long as they keep as far right as possible. Us, as a motorist, are required to maintain 3 or greater feet when passing a cyclist. As a slogan that is getting very popular lately among cyclists states, "Share the Road."

I didn't mean for this thread to go off talking about bicyclists, though. Sorry for that tangent. Back on topic if we could...

The tangent turn was more my fault and I apologize. Back to the topic...The cyclists post is a perfect example of a position and statement of a man who doesn't know his history...shame is we are several generations deep in 'em...

I cannot imagine a more off topic post than a 2A challenge in a road bike forum. Wonder what he would think if he knew the guy ahead of him in the pace line was cc'ing?

If I'm in the pace line with you, rest assured that at least one of us is armed. I was riding with a group of about thirty one morning in a very rural part of vermilion parish when one of our group went into an intersection without looking well enough. Wouldn't you know, the only car around for ten miles had to slam on his brakes. The situation got a little heated. I looked around and realized the only weapon any of had was a plastic bike helmet and the very angry, unshaven, Larry the Cable guy we had pissed off was most likely armed. Lesson learned.

I'm all for sharing the road with cyclist but there are some of you guys who think you own the damn road. Hwy 10 between Jackson, La and St Francisville is a narrow winding road and there are always cyclist taking up the entire lane 3 or 4 across where no one can safely pass. Just like motorcycles(I used to ride too) cyclist need to be more cautious and aware of there surroundings. People in cars usually aren't looking for you on the road
