I agree with what the officer said in the article..that's beyond abuse..its torture. And the fact that the victim was a toddler is sickening. I hope the girl pulls through and doesn't remember what happened later on. As for the "mother" she should be charged with a lot more than just child abuse. Public hanging would be a great thing to institute again. It would make people think twice (Hey, if I dick up, that could be ME!). The death penalty is something we read about or see reported on the news. Not something that happens in the street down-town in a graphic manner. I think it would be good. Read the crime (cause) and then yank the lever (consequence/effect). Spell it out in action for those of lesser mental agility. Crime rates just might drop.
