Poplarville 3gun on August 29

Hey folks.

Poplarville 3gun will resume Sunday August 29.

Scheduling in Sept. just doesn't work, so we plan to do it on the fifth Sunday this month. Four stages. This should give us two matches to work on before Ms3G.

You will need the usual ammo/slugs/etc. Don't forget the water. It MAY be a bit heavy on birdshot, we'll see.

Any RV parks or RV parking close by? It would be a looong early morning drive for me to get there for 8 a.m.

There is a truck stop about 3 miles from the range, I dont think they'll have a problem with you camping the night

There are RV parks/campgrounds on HWY 49 south of Wiggins. There are two that I drive by on that road. Bayouslide, coming from NOLA, you would have to drive PAST the "range" on HWY 26, go another 16 miles to Hwy 49, then turn right (south) to get to the RV parks. I'm sure they are listed on Woodall's or something.

Another alternative is to stay on I-10 to exit 34 in Mississippi, then turn north up HWY 49, and go through all the stoplights in GPT. You'd have to ask Mapquest to tell you what is faster. If it helps, there are NO stoplights between Poplarville and Wiggins on HWY 26.

Don't know how self contained you are, but you can park in the gravel pit and sleep there if you want.

Haascienda Ranch just right in poplarville probably 10 to 15 mins from range. Nice owner they have all hookups,shower house and small cabins. I think they have website.

I was thinking about eating a little healthier. Grilled chicken breasts in some sort of marinade with some grilled veggies and a simple side salad. If I can get home early on Friday I can lay out my crab nets and try to get some crabs. Fresh grilled crabs are good.

Let me know who wants to chip in for food so I can work out how much to buy.

Last couple of matches i've been going through 7-8 gallons of water and 40-80lbs of ice for my water cooler alone. Anyone bring an extra water cooler?

I'm combining my favorite hobbies: eating, fishing, and shooting. It just occured to me. This match is on Sunday. That means I can fish all day saturday! Yep. If the crabs hold up we gonna have a boil!
