Question on sbr engraving...when is it necessary?

    you engrave it if you are doing a form 1 to make a sbr. If it is already a sbr then it should have the manufacturers info on it and the tax stamp. can you give more details on the factor sbr?

    want to buy a factory daniel defense sbr, purchase it through clydes armory who is a class III dealer then transfer to me in louisiana, probably using landry 308.....i was under the understanding that if the factory made it, and sold it as a sbr, that is the only engraving that i would need.

    Correct. The manufacturer has to engrave it. The reason individuals have to engrave it is because they are "manufacturing" the SBR by chopping the barrel down.

    that is what i was thinking.....or understood.....here is what i am looking at going for a combination. 10.3 inch barrel, 9inch omega x, rail mounted sights..
