re blueing/ finishing

+1 for Daniel. I've seen the plating and it looks really good. He's also Duracoated a couple things for us. Check out the work on his website.

For lighter finishes in shiny or matte, Daniel is the man and he's local to boot. Very convenient.

If you want a nonpainted dark finish, Bobby Keigans at Freedom Gunworks in Georgia is offering a matte black finish called Atranite which is a chemical finish similar to Glock's Tenifer and is super tough. Takes about three weeks or so. About half the cost of Ionbond with a similar look. I had an older blued STI and had it refinished in Atranite. Much tougher than blue and much cooler looking to boot.

I agree Daniel does great work, another choice is John Gauthier of On Target in Kenner. He can do Ceramic finishes as well as all the other typical finishes except plating.
