    You don't need to register one at all. There is no law that states such, either. Just give someone cash (if a FTF deal) and walk away with a firearm. Some people like bills of sale to cover their proverbial asses but that is personal preference. I've never done one.

    The legal definition of a "firearm" is basically an NFA weapon. If you read directly above the link for that form on the LSP website it says:

    "Pistols and revolvers and those rifles and shotguns which have not previously been defined in this Paragraph as firearms from which serial numbers or marks of identification have not been obliterated are specifically exempt from this definition."
