I've dabbled with 13 grains of HS6 under a 265gr Keith. I use H110 and Unique as well. I'm loading for a custom built off of a Ruger Bisley. What are you shooting?

thanks so much for the reply.

primary two will be a 1990's vintage black hawk and winchester 94
    but i also have a pinned barrell s&w 25-5

I have h110 to devolp power house loads for the 94 rifle

what i am trying to work up here is just a good full power load for all modern guns

11 grains of hs 6 255 lbt lead my old data says should be 950 fps out of blackhawk

loading data for hs 6 seems to be hard to get relialble info

the current hogdon website lists 9 gr as max but i know that is wrong i am concerned it is to little

i used to have a downloaded data that listed 45 colt by gun model , if anyone has a reference like that i could sure use that

thank you , I did not have that one.

I am still interested in some published data that lists the s&w 25-5.

    http://www.handloads.com/articles/?id=12

leads me to beleive 11 gr of hs 6 will be stout while remaining very workable pressure

Looks like there is plenty of 'room' to play with this powder with 250-255g bullets. I see loads from 9.0 to 10.8 for 'standard' .45 Colt Loads. Another manual has 11g to 12g for 'standard' .45 Colt Loads. Another place (Loads for the .45 Colt) shows 12g as 'standard' load for .45 Colt.... Linebaugh at 13g so we have 9.0 to 13g range with over 12g being Ruger Only loads....

linbaugh notes that the accuracy really tightned up at 13 gr , I guess i need to load a hundred or so rounds at 11gr and see how it does

I load a lot of .45 but usually lighter loads. I have a few boxes of HP that I plan to eventually load hotter for hunting loads but haven't got around to it yet.
