reloading 7.63x39

Just got my first ak. went shooting and i love it. now i am on the question of reloading. is it worth reloading ak ammo since steel cased ammo is so cheap (runs about $6 per box where i am)

You can order x39 online for around $200/1000. And brass is virtually non-existant since the majority of it out there is steel case. Just not worth it IMO.

You can buy it now, but if you could not buy it your gun would be useless, I am reloading 7.62x39 brass that I find at the range to prevent that from happening.

thanks guys. i was figuring it was too cheap. you can find brass cased in local stores here, but cost about $1 a round. since aks arent picky didnt see the point just want to klnow if i was missing something

Yeah, man, a grandísimo box of ammo is as cheap as dirt. I am not aware of any dies or the like for reloading.

Dies are available. I have a set. I will reload it for a x39 bolt gun I have.

For blasting out of an AK, I get it whole and by the thousand.

Just not enough brass around to bother.

Exactly. This is one aspect of reloading that few folks think about.

i know of people who have 100k primers stashed.
