Hi all. Looking for some info on the Remington Golden Saber Bonded round. I've been unable to find any 9mm anywhere in the Lafayette area since the craziness started, and was finally able to find some 147 grain Golden Saber Bonded JHP's last night. My question is, the Speer Gold Dot's I am currently using as carry ammo have been seeing duty for about 6 months. Looking to change it out and am wondering if the GS Bonded are a decent SD round to use as a replacement?

I would trust my life to the Golden Saber over any Speer product.

What kind of bad experiences have you had with Speer? I have gold dots in a few different calibers and have gone through a decent number of the Lawman series and have not had any issues.

Remington Golden Sabre are the issue ammo for many law enforcement agencies. Good stuff.

Speer Gold Dot & Lawman are both good choices as well. IMO can't go wrong with any of them.

Would also recommend the Golden Saber 9MM(+P) if you see them.
Lighter bullet, but more energy and velocity than the 147g.

I like Golden Sabers and IMHO are only bested by the Talons/PDX1 (bullet engineering).

I was told Winchester Rangers use the same bullet the Talons used minus that ultra lethal Teflon coating.

I am sure someone on here knows for sure though.

Had a few problems with the primers on the gold dot a few years back and never had one problem with the Golden Saber. During a deadly force encounter, one problem is too many. It just stuck with me and that is why I said what I did.

And you are correct about the Ranger SXT.
