Removing melted plastic from barrel?

Last time I went out to the range, my girlfriend was shooting my AR resting on one of those plastic Hornady triangular rests. Barrel got warm enough to melt some of the plastic onto the barrel. Anyone got a way to remove it without marring the finish of the barrel?

Give it to your girl friend, her mess, she should clean it up, make her remove it with some nail polish remover and her cuticle tool
