As of now, it is normal for police to be so armed. Some people do not want police to carry. Let me ask this: how far will anti-firearm people take it?

they'll take it all the way if we let them. I would imagine they would line to follow parts of Europe where gun control is concerned.

I disagree. They didn't have to shoot him at all, why not just calmly ask him to stop attacking? Or threaten with a baton, or use a tazer? If all of the above fail them the last trapper would to be shoot the machete out of his hand.

Ridiculous! They could have shot him in the leg!

**sarcasm for those who don't pick up on it**

This just goes to show why we need sensible machete laws in this country. Any idiot, even a kid can walk into a store and buy an assault machete. No ID needed, no background check... Please think about joining GOFSMSL today! (Gun Owners For Sensible Machete Safety Legislation).:D PM me for information on how to contribute your non-tax deductible donation.

The dude also had molotov cocktails and other weapons according to an updated article I read. Sounds to me like it could fall under a thwarted half-assed terrorist attack. Definitely a strange story. Either way, good job good guys.

The stuff in the trunk of his car could have been bad too. He could make a mess with this. 'We also found three tanks in the trunk of the car -- an acetylene tank, a freon tank and an oxygen tank, and we don't know at this time what the intended purpose of those being in the trunk of the car actually are."
