I'm in Jefferson, and got a rifle roughly a month ago and still haven't been able to take it out. I'm free this weekend and was wondering if anybody had a suggestion for a rifle range around the NOLA area. Hell, I'd probably even drive to BR if need be.

yea, I 2nd honey island, but your other option would be bayou dragon in the westbank, it's indoors, no A/C, and I think it goes back 50 yards... I like honey island a lot more

Honey Island. Just make sure if you've never been, you have all your proper papers, ie:fishing/hunting license, wild La stamp, etc. Check the site posted by srvlst above.

St Bernard Indoor Shooting Center is not the same as the St Bernard Rifle Range (which he asked about)

As far as I know, the rifle range (in Poydras, La) is still around (private club, looking for members) and the indoor range closed after Katrina. They were two separate entities.

IIRC the infamous nolacop was planning a pistol / rifle range in the NO area somewhere. . . may or may not come to fruition. . . but it would be pretty sweet.
