Does anyone know of any rimfire matches anywhere? Looking for something for my gf and me to go to to get her some practice.

We shoot handgun silhouette every month from January through October in Gonzales.

Nick's has a rimfire rifle match. Their season just ended and will restart in the spring.

The East Ascension Sportsman's League has monthly rifle silhouette matches in Gonzales also.

They are finished for this year but will begin again in the spring. They usually shoot on the fourth Saturday of each month at the Sheriff's Office Range. I will PM a phone number of someone to contact about their matches.

Rifle or pistol?

Rifle silhouette is broken into 2 categories, basically light and heavy rifle. Then classes in each category are determined by skill level. You will only compete against people of similar skill. The rifle shooters have been offering a "Sportsman's" category which allows sandbags and all targets are at 40 meters. I can't say for sure if this is still offered.

If you want to bring your 10 year old son to our pistol matches, we'll let him shoot the rifle with bags if supervised by an adult. Targets are from 25 yards to 100 yards. It will just be for score, not part of the official competition, but he will still enjoy it. My 85 year old dad has been doing that this year.
