I bit on these since they're in original configuration.

Did they give any indication what kind of condition yours should be in?

They're sold out. Mine shipped today (impressive). Anyone else grab one? Said they only got 5 originals in. Unfortunately, there were no Tula or hex receivers.

You wont find any hex on a M38, if you find one it will be a 91/59 or 91/38... and those are keepers just not M38's....

Has Hammer and Sickle, so Izhevsk?

Tula has the star and arrow on the receiver above the serial number. Izhevsk is a triangle.

Both Tula and Izhevsk have hex receivers.

I thought that too at first, but according to this, there are hex receivers for the M38. They're just rare.

If you get one dont shoot it! squirrel it away, and get on a surplus rifle forum and see if you can get $600 for it... if not keep it as an oddity,

Woo hoo. Hope we both get good ones. Said excellent condition, but I'm curious what excellent condition means in original configuration.

Thanks to MEJ Services. Mike replied to my e-mail @ 3 am and gave me his information to send with my order. Without that I would have missed it. Only had 1 left then and I wasn't sure it as still available when I sent the order. But got a e-mail around 10 saying it as sent

When honey island opens again we need a mosin meet and shoot..maybe some trading can be done too

An excellent idea. I've got another 91/30 and this M38 on its way. Need to get some shooting in. If God ever stops reminiscing about Noah and the Ark at Honey Island...

I will have at least 2 T53's a nice M44, and hopefully I will be getting a M39 soon (91/30's dont strike my fancy) and right now I have about 700 round of surplus ammo... up for some volley fire with the carbines? (the only time I was at Honey Island my friend had a M44 next to me, when we shot at the same time people just stopped and stared lol)

The rifles are in fantastic shape. Every one has all matching numbers, nice wood and bores that look brand new.
