Ruger sr556ESC or Colt/Bushmaster M4

I got a no frills ruger sr556esc but have a friend that wants to trade one of his AR for it He has a Colt M4 and a Bushmaster. The Ruger is a rifle while the M4's are carbine which is the better rifle which one would you take. I like the ruger it's a piston rifle but I can get more aftermarket stuff for the other ones?

If you are going to trade then I would without a doubt go with the Colt.
