I just reviewed my email and got a response from Lloyd.

"I was a certified warranty repairman and had to go well beyond what an armorer is taught. You might also mention that, among around 30 trained repairman, I was one of only two to be rated a 10, the highest rating."

So I was wrong about his certification. This was my honest mistake not Lloyd's. I'm sorry if this caused anyone undue stress. He also said that he would be happy to work on the Model 66 for you.

Lloyd is difficult to deal with on occasion. We are both know it all buttholes. But he is definately a firearms expert. He's done plenty of work for me and given me advice more times than I can count. I have yet to find him wrong.

Seems some of you are misinformed about who is or was allowed to receive training from S&W. You didn't always have to be law enforcement. Around the early 80's, S&W was establishing warranty repair centers across the US. Being one of the gunsmiths at Steinberg's at the time, I was sent to S&W for training. You are right if you say I didn't receive armoror's training. I went considerably above that, not only receiving training along with about 29 law enforcement individuals in the academy, but also receiving more advanced training in the actual gun repair section at the factory. Am I qualified to work on Smith revolvers. I'd have to say yes. Of the roughly 30 warranty people trained at that time, I was one of only two to receive a rating of 10, the highest rating possible. Am I saying this to boast. Nope. Just letting some of you know you're not as well informed as you seem to think you are. So, if any of you needs Smith revolver work, feel free to check with me.
