Im building an AR lower and I'm complete, minus two parts. A rear takedown detent pin i can't find and my safety. The stupid detent won't fit in! It's to large for the hole. Do you have any ideas? Im stumped. I can't figure out how to drill it out im about ready to just get a new lower and start over.

Slow down and take a deep breath.
What kind of lower and parts kit?

It is an essential arms i got a few years ago. And the parts kit is DS arms. I've looked at several diagrams and i am positive it's the selector detent.

If possible measure the detent and the hole to verify which is out of spec. It would suck to drill your lower only to find out the detent was wrong.

Do you know what spec is? Im a newbie and im not exactly sure how to measure the hole.

    1/8"

Try putting a 1/8" drill bit in there and turning it by hand. You may have some extra spray in there giving you problems.
