Short action is more desirable. As is small barreled receiver.

The 111 should be a long action..... These rifles shoot well! I loved my 30.06!

I had a 111 in .30-06. I only sold it because I wanted something with wood. It was an accurate rifle (at least as far as out of the box) that would shoot 1" groups with hunting ammo. I sold it and the guy that bought it was very pleased with the way it shoots.

I have a 270 model 111, it's a older one pre accur-trigger, but it's still very accurate

The 111 should be a long action..... These rifles shoot well! I loved my 30.06!

They made a few short action 111's, and its the popular action to switch barrels on.

We have sold a few. They are good guns for the money. Everybody likes the accr-trigger and the drop mag.
