I hate shooting my 10/22 without earplugs. My bolt action is fine, but the semi auto makes too much noise for me without hearing protection.

I guess compared to an unsuppressed .308, a .22 is "quiet"

it wasnt that loud crack,,,it was a hefty deep 22,,,but you could feel the compression haha thud..kind of like describing a tattoo,,,just can never find the right words

That's a pretty accurate description. .22 with a tad more "force".
A suppressed AK is louder than a .308 bolt suppressed.
I've only heard normal .308 suppressed on a bolt gun, I'll have to try out some subsonics.
