So I found my old H&A .410 crack barrel shotgun in the attic while cleaning last night. It was put up years ago because it didn't work, and I was clueless about firearms back then. After taking it apart, I realized the striker assembly had broken off and I ordered a new one for a whopping $12.
Then I realized I have no real use for this thing, and it's not even that fun to shoot. I figured I could at least saw it off a bit and make it a fun little shooter and possible "last chance" home defense gun.
I want it to be completely legal. As far as I understand it, as long as the barrel is 18" and the overall length is 26" I'm good right? I plan on cutting the stock down to a pistol grip, which will give me about a 19" barrel for the 26" overall. Or I may cut the barrel as short as legally possible, and then just have some extra stock left to give me the overall length needed.
Does this sound right? If not, please someone stop me!
