The short answer from my phone is that the statute prohibiting firearms on school property has a clear exemption for firearms kept completely on the inside of the vehicle. As long as the gun stays in the car, you are not breaking any laws.

Wouldn't point 4 of section c allow chp holders to carry on school grounds?

Yes, stay off school property and your g2gWas wondering about this myself. The local grocery store is across the street from a school. It is OK to carry in the store? Don't park on the on the school side of the street, don't go on the campus.
Wow...... Wish I had read this law when I was expelled for having a pocketknife in my truck on school grounds.
I don't know about La. but here in Tx my wife, who is a teacher, cannot have a gun in her car at all on school grounds but I can park next to her all day long in the school parking lot with my gun in my car with no repercussions, so long as it stays in the car.
Not according to the instructor of the CHL class we took last week. He showed us the legal jargon of how the law is stated here in Texas and explained it in layman's terms, she can actually be arrested. I did a double take as well, but facts is facts. Alot of laws have changed here in the last couple of years concerning CHLs. We no longer have to re-take the course or re-qualify when we renew our CHL either, which is kind of a double edged sword. Most people need that brushing up every 4-5 years in my opinion.because she is abiding by SCHOOL POLICY. it isn't the law. she can't be arrested for it, she can be fired for it.

So I can walk down the sidewalk outside a school with my CCW (if I'm permitted), so long as I do not enter school property. Correct?
