I was right out of H.S. at 18 ,had joined the Merchant Marines . The ship I was on was coming back to N.O. across the south Atlantic into the G.of Mexico. Aircraft with large spot lights would fly over the ship at night to identify if carrying missiles bound for Cuba .
Quite a scary feeling being on the deck all alone at night with that big light beaming down on you . An experience I will never forget ! :help:
