This may be a dumb question but can I sell and build custom guns from my home without having a storefront if I get a FFL. Also if I can what other paper work do I need from the state or local government to do this?

I think in DS, you're OK (on the selling... no idea on building). In Slidell, I've heard it's a no-go, though.

If you have a FFL then it's ok by the BATFE (actually, it's expected).

If you have a retail business, tax ID number, and state permit then it's ok by Louisiana.

If you have a parish permit and retail license then it's ok by the parish.

If you cannot get either of the last two for one reason or another, then the BATFE will not approve a FFL application.
