Selling to someone with a C&R question

I tried searching for this on the forum, but didn't see anything.

This is a hypothetical question... If I have a C&R eligible pistol, can I sell it to someone that has a C&R license out of state and mail it myself? I do not have a C&R.

The out of state makes me nervous. Even if it's legal by fed law some states are not kosher with it.

On the other hand, get a C&R anyways. I've saved over $800 in transfer fees alone, not to mention the numerous dealer discounts I've gotten with one.
