I feel like I felt that as I read it! This beer gut of mine and appendix carry could never be friends.

The majority of appendix carry holsters out there aren't made for appendix carry. There are too many guys just bending some $5 sheets of kydex and calling it a holster. The number one problem I see, is guys wanting 0 cant, so they have to get the holster to ride higher, which then causes a huge grip in your gut.

Why some get appendix holsters with sweat shields, I'll never understand.

    1. Gives you a reference when reholstering.
    2. Keeps your gun from getting funky (if made properly)
    3. Keeps the gun from rubbing on your stomach. Aggressive slide serrations don't feel good on your gut.

This is a good example of what a high sweat guard should look like. The magazine release shouldn't be covered though.

IWB holsters should never had the stabby sweat guard of doom, like this OWB holster.

Well I got with Kee @ RM Holsters (site sponsor) and he is going to work some of his magic and make one that can accommodate a TLR-6. I'll post pictures whenever I get it.

I've been using a Lowrider with my Shield for two years, no complaints. Even use it with shorts and a tank top. Never been poked by the sweat guard, though. I can't carry most days, though, so I can't say much on durability.
