The kid that died was getting dropped off a few houses from his due to the fact that he had snuck out and didn't want to alarm his parent of such. Guys been robbed 5 times lately and takes this as the sixth. Runs out and fires off three rounds at a moving vehicle striking all three kids. Killing one. Then casually goes to eat breakfast. Much less, the shooter is a kid also, 18. So there's a whole 'nother world of sh*t for him.

The fatal shooting of a St. Thomas More High School student and the wounding of two other local Catholic school students was a "tragedy of epic proportions" that was never intended, the attorney for the man accused in the shootings told The Daily Advertiser Monday.
Thomas Guilbeau, the attorney for Seth Fontenot, 18, said his client has been distraught about the shootings on Sunday that left Austin Rivault, 15, dead of a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
Two other students, who are not being identified by The Daily Advertiser because they are juveniles, were wounded in the shootings but are expected to recover. One was shot in the ankle. The other was shot in the back of the neck and, according to his father, has a bullet lodged in his jaw.
"No one was ever meant to be shot in this case," Guilbeau said. "It's impacted him greatly, and he is very, very depressed and upset about the fact that a life was taken."
Fontenot is being held without bond in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a charge of first-degree murder and on two charges of attempted first-degree murder.
Fontenot told investigators his intentions "were to only scare the victims, not to inflict bodily harm and/or death," according to a sworn statement submitted by police in seeking his arrest.

Guilbeau said there are "highly unusual circumstances around this case," but declined to discuss specifics, citing attorney-client privilege and an ongoing investigation.
