    If you obtain a silencer legally, is it legal for a single rifle or can you switch between different ones of the same caliber?

    You can put it on anything it's rated for. Even different calibers. Or even someone else's gun (as long as your with them.)

    As a point of clarification on the comment "anything it is rated for," there is no legal requirement other than the manufacturer's warranty that you do even that.
