Single stack mag capacity

I have a friend who is planning on coming to EAPS next weekend for his first match shooting a single stack .45. He only has two mags but planning on buying more before the match. I'm not familiar with single stack rules. He wants to know if he can buy/bring 10 round mags or does he need 8 round mags?

I'm going for the first time then too. Single stack is 8. If he wants to do limited10 then 10 rounders.

8 for major, 10 for minor.
