whit a "debate" vote of 60 today, it opens the door to only need 51, not 60 to pass the actual bill.

That is why this was important. without this, it would have taken a 60 super-majority. now it will only take a 51 simple majority.

    its a procedural move.

Mostly it is due to the fact that the Republicans have yet to run a decent candidate against her.

I don't agree with the " mostly " part . I think it's mostly due to voter apathy . A certain segment of society votes Democrat and has a higher percentage of voter turnout . That would be her " base " that I mentioned .
That , along with the usual Democrat votes , is enough to overcome the piddly numbers of white , middle class conservatives that trickle in to the polls .

I don't think it would matter who the Repulicans ran against her. Her uneducated base will always vote dem. They are just looking for a handout and what can Mary bring to them. Welcome to Socialism. Most of her voters are alread socialist anyway. Anyone on the Govt' handout program is in a win-win situation with Mary and Obama. I hope everyone that voted for her and Obama are very happy with the way things are going. You know who you are.

Louisiana had a chance to vote Landrieu out at the last election. BUT a lot of conservatives voted for her because they figured she'd be better for the state than a freshman repub senator. AKA, people figured she could bring more money to the state.

They ran essentially a RINO against her in the last election. Now we have her for 6 more years. She just got re-elected, there was no chance of her going against her party when she wont be thinking about re-election for half a decade. We were just sold down the river.

She is not the only one that needs to go. Americans need to wake up and get rid of all the career politicians.
