I'm looking to hook up solar chargers to my deer/game cams this year.

My cams use 4 - 1.5volt batteries. This adds up to 6 volts but the camera says to plug in a 12 volt charger.

    Why???

Do ya'll have any advice for me on attaching and using solar chargers?

    thanks!

After rereading your op. I see you want to charge a camera, I'm not sure they have that but they may. I'll have a look see in the morning. If they do, rest assured it's good stuff.

Our cameras don't make it long enoug to need a charge as the mexicans think there gonna get caught and just dispose of them for us.

    Clarification:

The camera takes 6v worth of batteries and the plug in for the external battery is 12v. I don't know if the external plug in actually charges internal batteries, yet.

My Bushnell camera is similar in that they sell a 12v solar charger for their 6v camera.

I'm going to call the manufacturer tomorrow.
