    I believe in these quotes:

Republicans who said they would switch their votes from "no" to "yes" included Rep. Howard Cobble, R-N.C., and Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C. In a statement, Myrick said, "We're on the cusp of a complete catastrophic credit meltdown. There is no liquidity in the market. We are out of time. Either you believe that fact, or you don't. I do."

Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., noted that the bill also supports homeowners at risk of foreclosure by giving the government more say in how loans for troubled borrowers are modified so people can stay in their homes.

"When we buy up this toxic paper, we're in charge. We can do the kind of loan modifications we've been urging [the industry coalition] Hope Now to get done. ... We'll be able to set some standards," Waters said during the floor debate. "For anybody who says there's nothing in this bill for homeowners, they're incorrect."

Now is not the time to bury our heads and hope that the market can sort it out. A very hard decision had to be made.

GOOOH stands for 'Get Out of Our House' and is pronounced like the word 'go'. It is a NON-PARTISAN plan to evict the 435 career politicians in the U.S. House of Representatives and replace them with everyday Americans just like you.

GOOOH enables you to do four things you can't do today:

    1. Run for Congress without raising millions of dollars
    2. Truly participate in the selection of your Congressman
    3. Replace career politicians with true representatives who will be held accountable
    4. Eliminate the influence of special interest groups in the election process

The GOOOH process allows Americans of every political leaning to nominate themselves or someone they know to run for Congress. Through GOOOH's Candidate Selection Sessions you and your peers will select the candidate in your district who best represents your district's views. Even if you do not wish to become your district's representative you will want to participate in the process and have a direct say in who is chosen to represent your district. GOOOH will fund a single national campaign to promote all 435 candidates (one from each district) that are selected to run against the party politicians. Because GOOOH is a process for selecting representatives (not an agenda-based party platform) we expect a very liberal candidate to be selected in San Francisco and a very conservative one in Colorado Springs -- but it will be up to the GOOOH members in each district to decide.

For GOOOH to succeed we will need at least 500,000 participants. We will continue to build our base of supporters until we have the participation we need, at which time we will begin our effort to have the GOOOH party added to the ballot in the 50 states and to select our 435 nominees. There are many variables involved in reaching this level of support, but we believe it is only a matter of time.

The most controversial part of GOOOH is that the founder, Tim Cox, has proposed excluding politicians, actively prosecuting attorneys, and individuals with family assets over $11.5 million (250 times the median income) from the GOOOH system. They are excluded not because they are bad people, but because they are overly represented in government today and, generally speaking, no longer seem to represent the common man. We are not advocating that they be excluded from the two existing parties, or from running as independents - just that they not be allowed to participate in the GOOOH system initially while we try to restore more balance to our House. Mr. Cox understands his view may be incorrect, and that excluding anyone may be the wrong approach, but he felt compelled to start with what he thought was the best way to effect the needed change, not what was politically correct. With this in mind, the members of GOOOH will soon be asked to vote and decide if anyone should be excluded or if we should allow each pool of ten to determine for themselves how they want to vote. There is a great debate going on in our forums on this topic, and you are invited to weigh in.

We hope you will join GOOOH today and help us take our House back from the politicians!

    Reasons to Join GOOOH

    Your country needs you.
If you believe that America is the greatest country in the world, but you have concerns about her future, joining GOOOH empowers you to participate in setting the course of this country.

You want representatives to serve based on their own principles, not party affiliation.
GOOOH does not define (or have) a platform. It allows elected candidates to represent their district's interests unencumbered by partisan politics. Candidates will define their own platform by filling out the Candidate Questionnaire.

You want representatives who are not influenced by money.
Selected candidates will be funded by GOOOH (using the $100 contributions of all participants). Therefore, GOOOH representatives will not be tainted by special interest money as described on the Candidate Selection Sessions page.

You want representatives to serve free of re-election concerns.
GOOOH candidates are required to sign a legal contract agreeing to run for no more than two, 2-year terms. When elected, they will therefore spend their time representing their district and developing legislation; not fund-raising (or pandering) for the next election.

You want representatives who are accountable and transparent.
GOOOH representatives will keep their promises because they will have signed a legal contract promising to resign from office if they vote against one of their Questionnaire responses.

You want to directly participate in choosing who gets put on the ballot in your district.
GOOOH candidates are selected by their peers, in each district, based on the merits of their platform (their Questionnaire responses) and whatever other traits the members of each Selection Pool deem important. You become one of the selectors by participating in the Candidate Selection Sessions.

You want to become a U.S. Representative.
All you need to do is document how you will vote, commit to voting that way, pass the Screening Exam, and support the system with a $100 donation. Your peers will determine if you are the best person to be placed on the ballot in your district (see How The Process Works).

You want your children and grandchildren to have the same (or better) opportunities we have been blessed with.
If you are convinced that future generations will not have those opportunities because politicians now serve special interest groups, their party, and themselves, at the cost of serving the people, joining GOOOH enables you to be part of the solution.
