SOLD PENDING FUNDS
Estate Sale
I will be posting some firearms my collection and from an estate collection. Descriptions are mostly pulled from the web. The firearm pictured is the actual item.
This shotgun is in heavily used condition and the asking price is:
$80 FTF
No Trades
New Orleans - Baton Rouge
***********************************************************
MANUFACTURER: Iver Johnson
MODEL: Champion
CALIBER: 12 gauge
BARREL LENGTH: 30 inches
CHOKE / CHOKES: not labeled
LENGTH OF PULL: 14 inches
The name *Iver Johnson* is notoriously famous in the sense that three different guns made by the company were used in the assassinations of President William McKinley, in 1901, and Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, as well as the attempted assassination of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Single shot top-breaks like this were also commonly used as home and business protection in the early 1900’s. Just imagine, you walk into a rinky-dink saloon in 1913, sit down at the bar and order up a glass of hooch, and in behind you comes a couple of known welchers that caused a bit of a stir up the last time they were in. You turn and notice that one of them is packing a roscoe in his waistband, and before you can skidoo, out comes the Iver Johnson break-top from behind the bar as the barkeep yells *now you simps buzz off before I do you all in!* To that end, this shotgun would make a great addition to any early 1900’s firearm collection.
